Simple Wellness for a Busy Holiday Season

Simple Wellness for a Busy Holiday Season
Hi, friends!
The calendar can get full very quickly this time of year.
Meals to plan. Places to go. People to see. Traditions we want to keep. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, we are still supposed to take care of ourselves.
Family is a big part of my life. When everyone gathers, there are 19 of us, and I would not trade that for anything. But I also know that busy, meaningful seasons can make the basics very easy to forget.

That is usually when wellness starts becoming another list.
Drink more water.
Exercise.
Meal prep.
Sleep enough.
Take everything.
Do everything.

I would rather make it simpler. You do not need a bigger wellness routine during a busy season. You may just need a few supportive habits that are easy enough to keep doing.

Here are seven places to begin.
1. Come Back to the Basics
When life gets busy, the basics are often the first things to disappear.
Water. Meals. Sleep. Movement. Fresh air.
None of these are flashy wellness ideas. They are simply the things that help us feel more supported day to day.

Instead of asking, “What else should I add?” try asking, “Which basic thing have I stopped doing consistently?”
Start there. Small steps count.

2. Make Your Wellness Routine Easy to Reach
We are much more likely to use something when we can see it.
Keep your water bottle where you spend time.
Put the things you use regularly together instead of scattering them around the house.
Place your diffuser somewhere you will actually turn it on.
Keep easy snacks or simple meal ingredients where they are easy to grab.
The goal is not to create a picture-perfect wellness station. It is to make the things that support you easier to remember and easier to use.

3. Keep Meals Simple and Nourishing
November is not the month I would choose to make every meal complicated.
Soup is wonderful this time of year. So are leftovers. So are a few familiar meals that everyone will eat.
The goal is to make nourishing yourself easier, not turn dinner into another project.

If Young Living Vitality oils are part of your kitchen, Basil, Rosemary, Thyme, and Oregano Vitality can be useful ways to bring herb flavor into savory recipes. Essential oils are highly concentrated, so use only products labeled for culinary use and follow the bottle directions.

A little really does go a long way.
4. Create a Softer Evening Routine
The shorter days give us a natural invitation to soften the evening a little.
That does not require an elaborate bedtime routine.

Maybe you:
  •  turn down the lights
  • make a cup of tea
  • prepare one thing you will need tomorrow
  • read instead of scrolling
  • put your phone down a little earlier
  • diffuse an aroma you enjoy
Lavender is one of those simple, familiar aromas many people enjoy as part of an evening environment.
Your evening routine does not need to be perfect. It just needs to help the day feel finished.

5. Move in Ways That Fit Your Life
Movement does not have to become an all-or-nothing project either.
Take a walk. Stretch. Spend a little time outside. Work in the yard if the weather gives you the chance.
You do not have to turn every walk into a workout. Sometimes moving your body, getting some fresh air, and noticing what is happening around you is enough for the day you are having.

6. Give Yourself Some Margin
This one may be harder.
We have a way of filling every available space. One more errand. One more event. One more thing we can squeeze in.
But whole-person wellness also includes rest, relationships, connection, enjoyment, and being present in our own lives.
You do not have to earn rest by finishing everything first. Everything is rarely finished.
Sometimes the supportive choice is simply leaving a little room.

7. Decide What Kind of Support You Actually Need
One reason wellness can feel overwhelming is that we try to work on everything at once.
Maybe natural living is where you want to focus.
Maybe your energy has your attention.
Maybe you are thinking more about metabolism.
Maybe healthy aging is becoming more important to you.
The season of life matters. Your routine matters. What you are dealing with right now matters.
You do not have to figure out your starting point alone. My Wellness Quiz asks a few simple questions and helps guide you toward one of four Wellness Pathways.

Take the Wellness Quiz:

The holiday season does not require a perfect wellness routine.
Choose a few things that help you feel supported. Make them easy to repeat. Enjoy the people around you.

And let that be enough.
